I am a species well known for the quality and texture of my fiber, which is the finest among camelids and among all natural animal fibers. My coat is white on the chest and belly, the rest of my body is light brown. I am a gregarious and very territorial species.
My favorite food is grasses and non-woody herbs.
I live in the puna and the high Andean region, roaming open areas above 3300 m.a.s.l., especially in bofedales or plains with grasslands. You can find me in Peru, Chile, Bolivia and Argentina.<\/p>\n
